The Mag meeting 29th November

We had a good and interesting meeting today.

We decided we need a lot more articles from you, guys!
We need more articles about entertainment, different sports, not just football. So if you like tennis or hockey write to us!

We would like to hear more about your hobbies.

Sui-Ling says, she enjoyed today's meeting with everyone.

The Mag Meeting on 4th October

Claire Withers joined us again to ask us for information about The Mag and its members.
She would like this information to be put on the Learning Management System, a website for the MacIntyre staff.

We looked at the articles for the Autumn issue.
We decided we could do with 1 or 2 more articles and some artwork.

Mary is going to write about the Haddon Beats.
Anthony will work on his competition to give people a fair chance.

We talked about the Milton Keynes Roadshow and we came up with some questions for people from Finland who are going to visit the Roadshow.
In the break we looked at information about Finland and listened to the Monty Python's song about Finland as part of our research.

The Mag Group meeting on 12th July

Hi guys!

We had a meeting today.
Claire Withers came to see us to ask for our help with her project. She is going to make a film about MacIntyre that will be shown to new people.
She asked us to pick special stories from past issues of The Mag to include in the film.
Mary and Iain are going to be in the film to introduce the stories that we will pick.

We've had some really good articles for the Summer Issue which will be coming soon.
We talked about Bill Mumford's 25th anniversary.
We are in the process of updating our website so keep an eye on it.

Southampton Roadshow is on 14th July so if you are going to be there - come and see us!

Monday, 24 May 2010

We are very pleased that Ian Cuff joined The Mag group again.

We looked at articles for the Summer Issue and decided which ones to put in. We are hoping to get some more. Donald is very busy emailing people and asking for materials. The deadline for submitting the articles is 21 June.

Our competition from the Spring Issue is still open and you can send your entries until 21 July.

We had a look through The Mag box to see if our Roadshow stand should be made better. We will definitely get a nice photo album to display the photos of celebrities interviewed by The Mag.

Its road show time people on 10/6/10

Hi People its road show time (well bless my soul, that came a long fast). But this time the we are all bound on the good ship MacIntyre for The Wirral. So fokes get ready for Thursday 10th June 2010. It will be good to see all the services from that part of the world there and if you do want to come please see us the people from The Mag who work hard to put together at our stall. Remember its not just our Mag but a Mag for the fokes we support within our services. So pop across and say hello to whoever is on duty at our stall, tell us your thoughts and what you like or don't like and ideas for improvements. Let us know what you think of our new website.

See you at The Wirral or I'll blow a raspberry at you.

Back up our petition to save service 4 to Stony Stratford

For many years the number 4 bus has been running to Stony Stratford. Many of our learners work at the Coffee Shop during the weeks. This service was convenient for the learners to get to and from Stony.

The situation now lies that the number 4 bus is not running over there, which means we now have to change busses and spend much longer getting to the Coffee Shop.

We now have a petition that people can sign in order to let Arriva, the service provider, know that this change is a serious disruption for many of our learners.
We hope that with this petition we can bring this back to normal again.

If you want to you can either sign the petition in the Coffee Shop in Stony Stratford or you can contact Arriva bus company directly.

The contact details for the Coffee Shop are: 01908 568267, stony.shop@macintyrecharity.org
The contact details for Arriva is: 0844 800 44 11.
We would be greatful if you could back this up. Please involve friends and familes in doing this.

Trip to Theatre

Some members of the group went to see West Side Story at MK Theatre. We sat in the Gods, and had Probably the best view as well as paying the lowest price. We went with the Milton Keynes Independent Group. We really enjoyed the Play and Sui Ling brought a program to remember the occasion. Some of the people who attended wanted a copy of the music. Some of the Cast members recieve Support from MacIntyre and some are members of the MK Indie Group. We all look forward to the next trip.
